While revealing these verses, “freeing the neck” implies freeing the slaves. Since there is no slavery today anywhere in the world as there was earlier, freeing the neck is now possible by spending wealth and all favors for propagating Adhikr in one’s heart’s language, which is the only means to identify the aim of life and to form the harmony of mankind. It is the only way to help mankind attain the consciousness that every individual is fastened around his or her neck with a record in which every moment of life is being inscribed, and on the Day of Judgment, it will be given to them as an illuminated open book. It will then be told to them: “You read your book. Today you are enough to reckon your reckoning,” as explained in verses 17: 13-14, thus freeing their necks from all evils inscribed in their book of deeds. It is the only strong weapon to purify mankind from all mischievous activities such as terrorism, apartheid, sexual discrimination, riot, racism, communalism, etc., which create different types of discrimination among mankind, and to release mankind from the chain that binds their freedom. That is why Adhikr is the Balance and the Trust that keeps the universe in its equilibrium.
